Blog Subject: Sony PS3 |
| |
Gamers have long
awaited the arrival of Sony's PS3 video gaming system. PS2 was a
hit for years. Video games ranged from sports oriented games such
as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Transworlds Surf to the more tactical
options such as Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and UFC Sudden Impact.
Sony had actually come out with a "newer smaller version" of the
PS2. The versatile system actually played
CD music and regular DVD movies as well. |

As of January 2006
the PS3 still had not been released but Sony had put it
"on exhibit" during the Consumer Electronic Show
in Las Vegas, Nevada. This convention featured everything from car
stereo systems, to Ipod accessories, to lifestyle furniture to hold
your electronics. Unfortunately the general public was not
invited. The good news is that countless amounts of people work in
the electronic and computer industries. |

Sony had one of
the biggest booths at the convention. In fact, you could hardly
call it a booth. LCDs everywhere ! You could experience short
movies in mini theatres, view the latest home projector technology,
and of course laptops. The video game section was packed.
The PS3 was encased in a rotating clear plexi-glass display.
The console was shown in a metallic and black
version. The
controller looks closer to a futuristic boom-er-rang.
Next to the Display was a very large screen that had a demo from
the next generation PS3 "Off Road" game.
Rows of people were crowded around. The game appeared
more like a
3D movie on the big screen. Cars rolling toward us
(the crowd) and
crashing. It felt like you were in the game and/or
part of the
experience shown on the screen. The graphics were
realistic, and had less cartoon like
attributes than the current Sony PlayStation 2. If you
already bought the latest XBox, start saving your coins again. It
might be worth it to own both gaming systems. |
