Kingston Technologies manufacturers memory, usb storage, and solid-state drives.  Our representative from Kingston Technologies sent us a couple of drives for our review.  Products are not expected to be returned after the initial review.  This is not a paid advertisement.

4GB Data Traveler (Vault Privacy Edition)
Part Number: DTVP/4GB
http://www.kingston.com/flash/DTVaultPrivacy.asp

USB drive with 256-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) hardware-based data encryption.  This drive comes with a tool that enables the drive to be locked by password.  Be sure to use the hint option.  We had this compact device set up in minutes.  It works great.

128GB ssdNOW V Series (Notebook Upgrade Kit)
Part Number: SNV425-S2BN/128GB
http://www.kingston.com/ukroot/ssd/v_series.asp

128GB SSDNow V-Series SATA2 2.5 Notebook Bundle.  This Solid State Drive kit is solid from package to the hardware.  The retail kit comes with an external USB enclosure and cable.  We rushed to put the drive into the enclosure and connect via the USB cable.  We tried Windows 7 and Windows XP Operating systems.  No success with that thought.  We forwarded the drive to our Network Administrator, over at Unipoint, to set up and use the drive as intended.  Our complete feedback / review of this product is pending.

The Economic Pulse of The Computer Industry
There are recent financial indicators that could be interpreted as positive.
On July 15th, 2009 USAToday and CRN passed on the optimism conveyed by two major manufacturers. Intel reports that Notebook and Netbook sales were strong in the 2nd quarter of 2009. Intel confirmed its continued commitment to portable computing through a major acquisition last month. Intel acquired Wind River Systems, a mobile device software company. Dell reports that PC sales have finally stabilized even though SMB and Enterprise demands are weak. Dell anticipates a PC refresh cycle (hardware upgrades by businesses) to take place within the next year, Windows 7 operating system being the catalyst.
